Toward a zero-emissions future

At Transportes Luis Tortosa, we work every day to offer high-quality logistics services without compromising the environment.

Aware that road transport accounts for approximately 4.5% of greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union, we have taken on the challenge of leading the transformation toward a sustainable transport model.

Measuring and reducing our carbon footprint

In 2023, we calculated and certified our carbon footprint, reaching a total of 12,817.86 tons of CO₂e.

This data has enabled us to design an ambitious action plan aimed at reducing emissions by 20–25% by 2025, which means cutting up to 3,205 tons of CO₂e.

By integrating technological, operational, and energy solutions along with a solid fleet renewal strategy, the company can achieve its emissions reduction goals without compromising its operational competitiveness. Fleet renewal

More efficient and sustainable vehicles

At Transportes Luis Tortosa, we are committed to operating a modern fleet that is environmentally responsible. That’s why we include vehicles that meet the strictest European emissions and energy efficiency regulations.
Our Scania vehicles are certified under Euro VI standards, complying with European Regulation (EU) 2017/2400, which requires transparency in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. This regulation establishes a unified methodology for evaluating the environmental impact of heavy-duty vehicles using the VECTO simulation tool developed by the European Commission.

According to this analysis, the trucks acquired by our company present average emission values of 44.61 gCO₂/t-km, proving their efficiency in freight transport. These vehicles are equipped with cutting-edge technology such as predictive cruise control and Eco-roll systems, which optimize fuel consumption in real time.

Thanks to this investment in sustainable vehicles, we reaffirm our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and moving toward a cleaner, more efficient transport model aligned with European climate goals.

Our commitment to a greener future

At Transportes Luis Tortosa, we believe every action counts when it comes to protecting the environment. That’s why we participate in initiatives that reinforce our commitment to sustainability and emissions reduction.

In collaboration with Scania Ibérica, we are proud to be part of the “One Scania, One Tree” project, through which a tree has been planted for each Scania vehicle registered by our company in 2023. Through this initiative, we directly contribute to the reforestation of the Scania Forest, a green area located in the Southeast Regional Park (Madrid), open to the public and dedicated to CO₂ capture.

With the planting of two new trees, we help absorb approximately 4.2 tons of CO₂ per year for the next 100 years—a tangible sign of our commitment to more sustainable transportation.

We are committed to more efficient vehicles, alternative fuels, and responsible practices to continue growing in a way that respects the environment. This small gesture is part of a broader strategy toward greener logistics, where every kilometer traveled also counts for the planet.
