On March 6, M. Carmen Tortosa, second generation of the Transportes Luis Tortosa company, took part as a speaker in the “Women Leading in the Foia de Castalla” event, held at Caseta Nova to mark International Women’s Day. The initiative brought together businesswomen and professionals from different sectors with the aim of creating a space for reflection, dialogue, and the visibility of female leadership within the region’s business community.

The event was jointly organized by IBIAE Business Association, Cucú Comunicación & Marketing Empresarial, and Mas Moelen Concept—three entities committed to the business development of the Foia de Castalla and to creating spaces that foster the sharing of experiences, the analysis of current challenges in the business environment, and the recognition of the talent driving the growth of companies in the area.

The event was structured around two roundtable discussions featuring businesswomen and professionals from the region, who shared their career paths, their perspectives on leadership, and the experiences they have gained throughout their professional journeys. Through their contributions, topics such as business management, the evolution of business projects in an increasingly competitive environment, and the importance of building strong organizations based on trust, responsibility, and commitment to the team were addressed.

The first roundtable included Andrea Juan (Nina Nutt), Verónica Jamet (Cucú Comunicación & Marketing Empresarial), Sara Sempere (Sempere Mannequins), and Sonia Martín (CLR – Electro Mechanical Solutions for Actioning). During this session, different perspectives on leadership, innovation, and the ability to adapt to today’s business landscape were shared, highlighting the importance of strategic vision and decision-making in constantly evolving environments.

M. Carmen Tortosa took part in the second roundtable, alongside Ángela Mira (Herrajes Bermi), Santi García (Maysan Pack, S.L.), and Marina Cerdá (Totcartó & Mas Moelen Concept). This discussion addressed topics related to the evolution of family businesses, the responsibility involved in taking on leadership roles within well-established organizations, and the need to continue developing business projects with a perspective focused on both the present and the future.

The event also featured an address by Héctor Torrente Pastor, Director of IBIAE, who highlighted the importance of continuing to promote meeting spaces that showcase the region’s business talent and encourage the exchange of experiences among professionals from different sectors. Initiatives like this help strengthen ties between companies, promote new collaboration opportunities, and recognize the fundamental role that many professionals play in the economic development of the area.

The event also included a special contribution from Lara Insa, whose intervention provided an additional perspective on the importance of continuing to create spaces for dialogue that foster reflection on leadership, business management, and the role people play within organizations.

Beyond the individual contributions, the event stood out for its approachable atmosphere and the opportunity to hear real-life experiences linked to the day-to-day management of businesses. The conversations held during the session highlighted that leadership can take many forms, but in all cases it shares common elements such as commitment, responsibility, and the ability to face new challenges with determination.

Transportes Luis Tortosa’s participation in this type of event reinforces the company’s commitment to the business environment of the Foia de Castalla, as well as its interest in playing an active role in initiatives that contribute to strengthening the region’s economic fabric.

These kinds of events not only help to showcase inspiring professional journeys, but also create opportunities for shared learning and highlight the important role played by many companies and professionals in building a strong, dynamic business ecosystem prepared to face future challenges.
